With more than 900 members, the Fredericton Chamber of Commerce is one of Atlantic Canada’s largest chambers of commerce. A dynamic and relevant business organization, the Fredericton Chamber of Commerce is actively engaged in policy development that affects the competitiveness of our members and of the Canadian business environment.

  • Benefits - Visa/MasterCard merchant discount rates, chamber group health plan, discounted home and auto insurance program, discounted gas cards, boardroom rentals, website and directory listing, "Member 2 Member" discount program, complimentary Green Shops enrolment for those who meeet Green Shop standards, and advertising opportunities to name a few.
  • Education - Keeps chamber members up-to-date on current issues and trends. Provides the community with the Business Immigrant Mentorship Program, which enables immigrant investors to integrate with the business community more effectively.
  • Advocacy – Working with representatives from all levels of government (municipal, provincial, federal) in an effort to remove barriers to business and maintain a vibrant business climate.
  • Networking - With over 900 member businesses, the Chamber provides an extensive network of contacts. Each year the Chamber hosts more than 30 events, which provides ample opportunity for members to broaden their contacts.

Downtown Fredericton Inc. is a Business Improvement Area (BIA) organization dedicated to sustaining and encouraging growth and development in the Central Business District of the City of Fredericton.

  • Promotion - Marketing the downtown to new and existing consumer markets as the preferred place to work, shop, live, visit, play and do business.
  • Physical Improvements - Enhancing the physical attractiveness and effectiveness of the downtown including streetscape improvements, signage, landscaping, vehicular and pedestrian traffic and other physical attributes.
  • Economic Development - Working in partnership with private developers, all levels of government and community agencies to develop strategies for business recruitment, retention and expansion in the downtown.
  • Advocacy and Dissemination of Information - Downtown Fredericton provides a unified "voice" for downtown business on issues and areas of concern affecting the Downtown core working to inform and generate awareness among government representatives, policy makers and staff.
  • Business Assistance and Consultation Services -providing up to date information resource support and educational opportunities to assist businesses to compete effectively and prosper in today's marketplace.

Enterprise Fredericton, part of the Enterprise Network, is one of 15 provincial wide Enterprise agencies that are focused on helping small and medium-sized businesses succeed with their start up, expansion or relocation. Our primary roles are to:

  • Lead the process. Provide the leadership necessary to move the community forward.
  • Coordinate with partners. Bring community stakeholders and governments together.

  • Design - Developing the Main Street Central Business District's physical functionality and effectiveness though improvements for pedestrian and vehicular traffic, recreation, urban design, and signage. Research, studies, and statistics are made available.
  • Organizational - Offering membership benefits and opportunities through business events, market research, statistical info, mailings/communications, website development and promotion as a tool for both consumers and members, and advocacy/representation to government.
  • Promotion/Marketing - Developing, initiating and executing promotional campaigns, special events, publications, and media relations programs.
  • Economic Development - Business recruitment, real estate location services, consumer market research and statistical data, and member educational opportunities.
